007: the quiet corners / observations from a cabin in the woods.
a collection of poetry, quiet observations, and the wisdom found at my cabin in the woods.
I imagined we would have many mornings in this place
watching the alpine blush
a hushed glow
before the world rumbles awake
as the fog lifts off the skin of the lake
settling into the tops of the pines
we’d sit together on the deck
and I’d have a book open on my lap
watching you every so often
mesmerized by the way you lose yourself
in the moment
like a poet
simply sipping your coffee
as dew dried on the wooden railing
you’d look at my mouth
as I smile and say nothing
recalling the way
our limbs tangled and twisted
our milky flesh lit by the moon
and how your fingers felt
as they glided across my shoulders
but instead there’s an emptiness
where I thought you’d be
just crinkled linen sheets
and the frame of your silhouette
lingering in the quiet corners
of my dreams.
007 from “Observations from a cabin in the woods.”
This series is a collection of poems written over many seasons at my favorite place in the world: my off-grid family cabin in the woods, nestled on a lake in the mountains of British Columbia. The place where the edges of life soften, where time slows, where I am able to slow dance with the Mystery. The place I feel truly home. These musings form a conversation between me and the land, between solitude and creativity, between stillness and story.
These places which hold the wisdom invite us in, when they (Plants, animals) see we are again ready to absorb it.. Then Love flows from everything. Why it happens every time anew ?.. we do we leave that place, that space ?.. Perhaps its the contracst that helps us grow, or Gods desire that we take some of that Fairy dust, and spread it through the city
